Cosmic Horror Monthly will be open for Novella submissions in April, 2022 to be serialized in the magazine!
We will be looking for story pitches first. Please provide a synopsis of the story including the ending in the pitch. The work must not be published already. If we like what we see in the pitch, we will reach out to you requesting the full work. The story should align with cosmic horror, Lovecraftian themes, or otherwise weird fiction.
The Novella should come out to around 30k words (not exact) and be easily serializable across six issues of our magazine.
We will pay our standard rate of 3 cents ($0.03) per word up-front for the completed work which we will hope to have in our hands around mid-May 2022.
Send your story pitches, with a sample of your writing to submissions@cosmic-horror.net with the subject line: CHM Novella Submission. The email body should consist of a short introduction to you (bare minimum: your by-line) and the story pitch. Attach a doc/docx/rtf document with a writing sample. Alternatively, the pitch may also be in an attachment along with the writing sample.
The submission window for pitches will be open from April 1 to April 11.
